Periwinkle is 60 feet long and has been specifically designed by Steve and Gill as a hotel boat. She was built in 2001 at Lower Park Marina Barnoldswick, by Peter Thompson and painted there by Alistair Isles. Steve and Gill have fitted her out lovingly to a very high standard.

There are 2 guest cabins, one double and one single. Both cabins are entirely private and have sprung mattresses and washbasins with hot and cold running water. Although storage space is necessarily limited, there are drawers and cupboards in both cabins. Hangers are provided.

The guest bathroom is situated between the cabins and includes a shower, washbasin and flush toilet. Colour co-ordinated towels will be provided for each guest. The guests will have use of the saloon area at all times, there is a selection of books and games for entertainment. Periwinkle is centrally heated and extremely comfortable. The well deck is an ideal place to sit and watch the world pass by, or feed the ducks from.

Cruising on the Periwinkle

A typical day will begin with early morning tea or coffee served in your cabin if required. Full English breakfast will be served at 8:30am, followed by an update of the day's route and places of interest.

The days cruising will have begun by 9:30 am, with morning coffee and homemade biscuits served on the move at 11:00am ( dependent on locks, tunnels etc.).

We will moor for a leisurely lunch at approximately 12:30 pm. Setting off for the afternoons cruise or visit around 2:00 pm. afternoon tea and homemade cake will be served on the move about 4:00 pm.

By 5:00 pm we will have moored for the evening, allowing time to explore the area before dinner, which will be served at 7:00pm. Following coffee the evening is yours, to enjoy the on board facilities or walk to a nearby pub. On a summers evening sitting on the front deck stargazing is a lovely way to spend some time.

A hot bedtime drink is available if requested.

Although we have called this a typical day, there is really no such thing, every day aboard Periwinkle will be different. However one thing is certain, every day will be enjoyable, varied and full of interest.
